Do you have apnea or not?
There is a horrible sleep disorder out there called sleep apnea and unfortunately there are tons of people all over the globe that are dealing with it. The hardest part of this disorder is identifying that you actually have it. Sleep apnea is basically when your body instantly stops breathing while sleeping and causes the oxygen to obviously be shut off to your brain. This lack of breathing will wake the sufferer up from a dead sleep and this constant interruption can lead to serious sleep deprivation. The sad thing is that the most common symptoms sleep apnea are overlooked and the waking up is attributed to a number of other things in the world like a spouse rolling over or a dog barking or any number of other sleep distractions that may or may not be there.
The best thing to do if you think that you have any symptoms sleep apnea is to consult a trained physician. Your normal doctor is a good place to start and they may refer you to a sleep specialist. The lack of proper sleep can actually make you very exhausted during the day and make it very hard to concentrate on tasks and effectively do your job at work. Failure to be able to be alert and awake at work may lead to professional difficulties. If you have sleep apnea then you need to look for treatment and cures to help you out.
Not only can sleep apnea symptoms cause professional problems but personal ones as well. When the sufferer wakes up often the spouse does too and then nobody gets a n effective night of sleep. Seek help with your sleep problem for yourself and all others in your life. There is life after sleep apnea.
